Oblivion is old, but it’s also a classic. Based on the Elder Scrolls universe, the forth title is good enough to stand tall. You are the random (or not?) prisoner who gets his freedom in order to play his part in saving the empire. Things do downfall, Oblivion gates open and you must make it right. Oblivion is the hellish plane where the Daedra live, you must close the gates etc. You get the idea.
What makes IV good is it’s lore. It’s full of things to do and see so even if you don’t like the main story, which is somewhat repetitive for its 12 hours, you can be a thief, assassin, Blade, Vampire, or even live as a farmer. The graphics are quite amazing for the year the game was released and so is the sound. There are some game-design issues but they are mostly minor, so yeah, Oblivion is a good game.
